Mushrooms and Snails

My next Amigurumi project were mushrooms and snails. First, I found this mushroom pattern from orangeflower.typepad.com. I thought it was so cute and very easy to make.

For the big mushroom, I exactly followed the pattern which is generously provided by orangeflower. For the small mushroom, I modified the pattern a little bit. I also made a green small hill for the mushrooms to stand up by modifying the Turtle Pattern.

Then, I found a photo of mushrooms and snails together by ElisabethD at flickr.com which I don't have a pattern. So, I used her photo as an inspiration and created the pattern by myself. I also added the base so my snails can stand up and supposed it as a ground.

I photographed the mushrooms and snails together because each of them standing up alone seemed lonely to me. It turned out that the mushrooms and snails match perfectly.

I can't believe I created the snail pattern by myself after I have been doing Amigurumi for only one month. I'm not bragging or anything but just hope that my Amigurumi experience would inspire others who would like to start the same hobby. : )

Last but not least, I would like to thank those who created the Amigurumi mushrooms and snails that inspired me.

Seal Lovers

"Seal Lovers" was my latest project. I chose to do this because I wanted to learn how to make a float, hats, and get more decorative ideas of making flowers.

I am still using the pattern from Khun Fozzil's Blog. I also get photography idea from him as well. Therefore, I would like to give him all the credits.

Pucca Hair Head Band

After I made Pucca dolls for both of my little girls, I decided to make them Pucca Hair head bands too. When they wear these head bands, they look like Pucca and I feel like having quadruplets. : )

Pucca Dolls for My Little Girls

As mentioned previously that I made Pucca Doll for Kelly, my older daughter's best friend who was born the same day as my daughter. Later, I made two more Pucca Dolls for both of my little girls as well. I still used the same pattern but was more careful when assembling all the pieces together. I also personalized each doll with their names.

Here are photos of Pucca Doll from several view points. Just in case you are curious how it was assembled.

Pucca Doll for Kelly's 4th Birthday

My older daughter's birthday is coming up. I can't believe she will turn four next week. I have been looking for something to make as a birthday present for her and found this Pucca Doll patterned created by Mrsdevil. I would like to thanks Mrsdevil and give her for all the credits.

However, I decided to send the first Pucca doll I made as a birthday present to Kelly, who will turn four next week as well. Back in Hawaii, we lived in the same building with Kelly's family and she was born the same day as my older daughter.

Kelly and my older daughter are like best friends. They even had the 2nd birthday party together. It was fun and memorable experience and I'll never forget Kelly's birthday. June, Kelly's mom, is like a sister to me too. I am so lucky we met and become best friends.

Happy Birthday, Kelly!! We love you. : )

Valentine's Heart

Valentine Day is coming up. I decided to practice making hearts. I was confused with the pattern at first. However, after I got my hands on the crochet and yarns, it flew naturally. These hearts were so easy to make and they looks beautiful too. I love the pattern and believe that I got it from Mrsdevil's Blog but I just can't find the link. If I can find it, I will post it later.

Penguin Buddies

Although I mentioned earlier that I love Khun Fozzil's patterns, I recently escaped for other sources of patterns for a while. I just wanted to try reading pattern in English and see if it works the same way. Thanks for the basic skills I learned from Khun Fozzil, I found it so easy to read English pattern as well.

I made the big penguin for my older daughter by following this Amigurumi Penguin Pattern from Lion Brand Yarns Website and modified the pattern a little bit to make a smaller size for my younger daughter.

I didn't make a scarf because the penguin is too round to put decorative stuffs on. I didn't make a hat either because sometimes I just love the concept of "minimal and simple". These penguins look good enough for me. I was glad to see my little girls' happy faces. They love these penguins.

The Bunny Sisters

I still crochet the amigurumi using the pattern designed by Khun Fozzil, the same person who created patterns for my winter bears and the turtle brothers. I will continue practicing my skills by using his patterns for a while because his patterns are accurate and fool-prove and his instructions are always clear.

The Bunny Sisters was my third project. I admit that I still lack of decorating ideas. I don't even know how to crochet a small flower or a hat. Therefore, to decorate the heads of the bunnies, I used flower button and butterfly button picked by my older daughter who will turn 4-year old in the next two weeks. Now she is a big girl who always gives me extra hands. Besides picking up the buttons, she helped me stuff the bunnies.

Since I have two lovely daughters, I intend, from now on, to create my amigurumi in pairs for both of them. Although I have to double my work, I am happy to see my little girls happy. We named the purple bunny "Pan" and the yellow bunny "Pie".
